Heat Wave To Hit Britain Next Week
Sounds like summer could be here at last, but will it last?
Britain should be ready for a Mediterranean heatwave next week when temperatures could reach 30C, say forecasters.
Hot weather from the continent is expected to move upwards towards the British Isles, bathing us in sunshine and warm conditions, obviously the South will get warmer weather than we will, but we will have some hot weather but not necessarily a pleasant heat.
Met Office experts warn that the temporary spike in temperatures could trigger uncomfortable humidity and thunderstorms across the country and it does look like continental Europe is going to turn increasingly hot.
"There's a high chance of some of that hot air drifting our way and high temperatures, particularly across southern Britain.
The second half of next week could bring a chance of us getting temperatures of 30C or so. Proper summer warmth.
At the moment it's looking like a short-lived affair and could be over by Saturday July 4.
The NHS warns that high temperatures can be dangerous, especially for the elderly, the very young and people with chronic or long-term medical conditions, such as a heart condition or breathing problems.
