Hooray For Summer Says Greengates Builders Merchants Accrington, Lancashire
Summer Is Finally Here, Say Forecasters
After rain, snow, hail and the coldest spring in 50 years, summer is finally here, say forecasters.
The Met office says that June has begun fine and dry with highs of 25C expected midweek, making the UK as hot as the Mediterranean.
Temperatures will stay in the late teens today, with London seeing the best of the weather and the mercury possibly hitting 20C.
Tomorrow, highs of 21C are expected and this will steadily creep up as the week goes on.
On Thursday most parts of the country will continue to bask in the sunshine, with southern parts enjoying temperatures of 25C.
Met Office forecaster Mark Seltzer said: "Today it will be dry and fine once again for most, with light winds and some warm sunny spells giving temperatures similar to yesterday.
"Lots of dry weather will be continuing this week.
"Many places will not see any rain all week. It will be fine and dry for most parts of the UK all week.
"We will be chasing the clouds when it comes to temperatures. When clouds break the sun will be extremely strong and it will feel hot.
"Summer has finally arrived. When the weather hits its peak, temperatures will be similar to those in Spain and Italy.
"After the poor weather we had in May, it will come as good news to people that they can enjoy good weather all this week.
"It will feel very pleasant outside as it won't be too hot and humid."
“Time to get all those out door jobs started” says Greengates Builders Merchants Accrington, Lancashire.
