Snow Could Be On It’s Way To Lancashire!
SNOW brought travel chaos to motorists returning home yesterday evening as they struggled with treacherous road conditions in the north of England.
Drivers were caught out by sudden heavy snowfall on steep roads that were not gritted which left cars and buses stranded.
People travelling from work were seen trying to push their cars as they struggled for grip on roads in the town of Mossley in Greater Manchester.
The Met Office had earlier warned that snow was making its way towards the Manchester area with higher ground set for 10 centimeters of snow.
Lower levels were predicted to face 5 cm of snow and showers were expected to continue into today.
Forecasters warned the public to be aware of the disruption snow could cause to their travel plans and the difficult driving conditions they could face.
The Met Office added: "Following the eastwards clearance of the frontal system on Tuesday, a cold and unstable westerly airstream is expected to follow across northern and central parts of the UK which will persist through Tuesday night into early Thursday.
