We Could Have Snow In The Next Two Weeks
The worst freeze since the winter of 2009/10 follows reports that this winter could turn into one of the worst for half a century. Weather models have just started to show a colossal icy plunge from the north engulfing the UK in the next fortnight.
A dramatic shift in the weather before the end of the month will see freezing winds and snow roar in from the Arctic.
The warnings come after months of topsy-turvy weather with the latest twist being the hottest start to November on record.
However a significant change is on the way with bitter Arctic winds finally heralding the start of winter.
James Madden, forecaster for Exacta Weather, said the first snow is expected to arrive within the next fortnight.
He said: “From around mid-November we can expect to see some significant changes taking place as winds begin to veer in from a much chillier northerly and easterly direction.
