History

We are a family owned independent builders merchants supplying building and timber materials to the trade and D.I.Y.in the Lancashire area.

We have been trading from our site in Accrington for over 20 years. The site was previously owned by Evans Builders Merchants from whom we bought it. Before that the site was roofing supplies where roofers served their appren­ti­ceships, all in the entire site has been used in the building trade for over 100 years.

When Greengates started trading from this site in 1987 we employed 5 members of staff and ran 1 wagon. We now employ 18 people from the surrounding area and run 3 wagons.
