As its name suggests, ThistlePro FastSet Finish is designed to make plastering faster and more efficient, saving valuable labour time without any compromise on quality whatsoever. An all-in-one solution, the product can be used right out of the bag and does not require the use of any additives to create a reliably-smooth finish.
The gypsum-finish plaster is exceptionally versatile and can be used with equal success on many different surfaces, as well as for simple patch-and-repair jobs. Once correctly applied, the rapid-setting formula creates a strong, durable base for all sorts of different decorative finishes, including tiles.
In numerous, rigorous tests carried out by the experts at British Gypsum, ThistlePro FastSet Finish has been proven to set predictably in as little as 60 minutes. Backed up by a full British Gypsum guarantee of quality, the product delivers a strong finish in the quickest time.
It is recommended to use a single mix for both coats, with the second coat being applied as soon as possible after the first. The working time is around 25 minutes. If fresh material is mixed for the second coat, it is important to ensure that the first coat is completely flat to avoid any potential for trowel lines to grin through. The product can be used in cooler conditions; it has been tested in 5°C temperatures and the set profile is extended by around 10 minutes, with the colour change taking up to 70 minutes longer. Suction can also impact on setting time.
