Green-Treated Decking Boards
The decking boards supplied by Greengates Builders Merchant Accrington are crafted from the finest redwood timber, which has been subject to a green-treating process to ensure the ultimate longevity by protecting it from the elements and from attack by algae, moss, lichens, fungi and insects.
Green-treated timber is sometimes referred to as 'pressure-treated' or 'tanalised' timber. The process of green-treating begins when the raw timber is placed into a sealed vacuum tank, into which chemicals including copper and biocide are then pumped. The vacuum inside the tank causes these chemicals to penetrate deeply into the microscopic pores of the timber. After this process is completed, the timber is removed from the tank and fully dried.

Green-Treated Newel Posts & Spindles
Treated timber is also used to craft our attractive newel posts and spindles. Designed expressly for use in the construction of timber decking structures, these superior screws are made from tough, durable steel of premium quality. The screws are supplied in tubs of 250 or, for added cost-effectiveness, tubs containing 1,000 screws.
